Job Title: Installation Assistant
Purpose
Support the Lead Installer with the removal and installation of windows, doors, and related products in customers’ homes while ensuring quality workmanship, safety, and customer satisfaction.
General Description
Assist in the safe and efficient removal and installation of window and door products according to order specifications and Pella installation standards.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Remove existing windows and doors; install new products following Pella’s instructions and best practices.
Install window and door accessories and perform minor repairs.
Adjust openings as needed, including header modifications.
Cut, fit, and install interior and exterior trim; bend and apply exterior metal cladding as required.
Set up, inspect, and disassemble ladders, scaffolding, and other equipment safely.
Maintain company tools, vehicles, and jobsite inventory to support efficient operations.
Ensure all work areas are clean and safe throughout each project.
Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times.
Review and understand all project documentation prior to each job.
Perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
Protect customer property and maintain a professional, courteous demeanor on every jobsite.
Comply with Lead-Safe Renovation procedures.
Participate in monthly safety meetings and ongoing training.
Identify and share ideas to improve safety, quality, or efficiency.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
Professional, courteous, and trustworthy with a positive attitude.
Strong communication and teamwork skills; able to interact respectfully with customers, including in difficult situations.
Basic construction knowledge and ability to learn mechanical tasks.
Competence in using hand and power tools safely.
Adaptable to changing priorities and jobsite conditions.
Safety-focused mindset and commitment to following procedures.
Willingness to travel and stay overnight up to three nights per week.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
Physically able to climb ladders and scaffolding and lift or carry items over 100 pounds.
